The Hayward Classic is one of the top masters track and field meets in the country, now open to athletes age 25 and over. This is a rare opportunity to compete at the newly remodeled Hayward Field, site of the 1972, 1976, 1980, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Trials.
Due to Hayward Field construction and Covid, the Hayward Classic did not take place in 2019, 2020, or 2021.

World Record - Christa Bortignon - W80 Triple Jump - 6.81m (22' 4 1/4")
* Christa also jumped 8.03m (26' 4 1/4") wind aided
* Several jumps were well past the old world record of 6.55m (21' 6")
World Record - Christa Bortignon - W80 Long Jump - 3.10m (10' 2")
World Record - Doug (Quenton) Torbert - M65 Shot Put - 16.66m (54' 8")
* Broke the world record multiple times in series
* Added 2 1/2 feet to the previous record!
World Record - Colleen Milliman - W90 Mile - 13:26.46
* Oldest women to ever officially race a mile!
American Record - Gary Patton - M70 3,000m - 11:19.29
Canadian Record - Christa Bortignon - W80 100m - 17.32
